DNA – Benin, Africa

Traveling to a new country is always an exciting experience, but traveling to Benin, Africa with Impatient Cow Productions was something else entirely. When our producer, James Jolly, announced that we would be heading to Africa to shoot a documentary-style video for Ancestry, we were genuinely surprised. We had never been to Africa before, and didn’t know what to expect. But as soon as we landed, we knew that this trip was going to be something special.

The people we met were just as memorable as the food. Everywhere we went, we were greeted with smiles and hospitality. The locals were proud to share their culture with us, and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

One of the highlights of our trip was getting to know Keiron Graham, the subject of our documentary. Keiron’s story was one of discovery and family, and it was an honor to help tell his story. Through our interviews with Keiron, we were able to piece together a powerful narrative about the importance of family and the ways in which our ancestors shape our lives.

In the end, our trip to Benin was an adventure that we will never forget. From the food to the people to the music, everything about this country was packed with a type of culture we had never seen before. Thank you, Ancestry, for giving us the opportunity to tell Keiron’s story and for introducing us to the incredible country of Benin.
