How We Helped Bring the One Utah Summit Visuals to Life with a Blend of Artistry and Automation
At last year’s One Utah Summit, hosted by the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity, we were invited by Powerhouse Events to help create a set of vibrant, animated video panels that would serve as a dynamic visual backdrop for the event. The concept: six looping vertical scenes, each representing a different part of Utah’s identity—its landscapes, people, and economic future.
Powerhouse provided us with six AI-generated illustrations to start with, and our task was to take these still images and transform them into seamless, looping animations that felt natural and alive—without any distracting cuts or jumps.
Our Workflow
Working with AI-generated imagery gave us a head start, but crafting polished animation still required a hands-on approach. Using a combination of Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and a few AI-assisted tools like Midjourney, Runway, and Stable Diffusion, we broke each scene into layers, added depth and movement, and created elegant loops that could play continuously behind speakers.
Despite the tight turnaround, we delivered all six animated panels in just a few days—thanks to a streamlined workflow that balanced automation with thoughtful design.
A Collaboration Between Human and Machine
This project highlighted the potential of AI as a creative partner—not a replacement. The visuals may have originated from machine learning models, but the emotion, timing, and polish came from our human team.
From skiers on snowy slopes to boats gliding across Lake Powell, each scene was crafted to feel alive and uniquely Utah—reflecting the spirit of the One Utah Summit in motion.

The result was a stunning visual foundation for a high-profile event—quickly produced, deeply customized, and creatively collaborative. It’s a great example of how emerging tools can expand what’s possible when paired with human expertise.
