What’s your unofficial role at COW? // What hats (metaphorically and/or literally) do you wear at COW?
Editor/Camera/ Whatever I am told to do. I applied for an editor position initially and day to day that is my role. But when we have a shoot, I will typically jump on that as a camera operator or grip or really any hat that needs to be worn for the job.
What brought you to COW? What keeps you there?
I applied for an editor position initially and ultimately was not what they were looking for… But I showed a lot of promise and potential and so they took a chance on me and brought me on anyway. Day to day I work as an editor. But when we have a shoot, I will typically jump on that as a camera operator or grip or really any hat that needs to be worn for the job. ICOW has been very good to me and the work environment is great! The people I work with and amazing people and have taught me more than I ever learned working at ABC/CW and they have continued to encourage my growth and development, and that is something I value.
What makes COW different?
Well, most cows are white with black spots, we are… a production company. As I mentioned previously, ICOW strongly encourages growth and development and they have done a great job at providing mentorship and guidance for me as a young new member of the team. Compared to other local video production work the things that are produced here are way more “Big leagues”
What’s your philosophy when it comes to production?
Plan, Plan, Plan, Plan…. Then throw the plan out the window and figure it out as you go…
Two truths and a lie.
– I am a relative of Harriet Beecher Stowe.
– I was part of the Korean war.
– I think Reese’s Pieces are the best candy out there.
Who is your hero?
Me… The fact that I am alive right now and I answered these questions is a miracle I am a hero to the version of me that thought I wouldn’t ever see today. But that’s life… I also really like Peter McKinnon…
